June 30, 2015 Software Update

Today we are releasing many new features designed to help improve your experience using CG Made Easy:
  • ENHANCED SUPPORT OPTIONS
    • When you find any missing distributor invoices in CG Made Easy, we now offer a quick solution for reporting those to us so we can more easily work with your distributors in getting the invoices loaded for you.  Under HELP, you now will see the option to make these requests.
    • Overall, we've made support easier for you by adding additional content to our HELP section under the HELP dropdown.  We also added the SUPPORT option on the left of every page of the application for easy access for you to pose questions to us and/or search our help content.
  • CHECK PRINTING:
    • The Printing Checks module was fully overhauled.  Now, the format of the check layout is improved.  In addition, you have the option to add the vendor address on the checks.  This allows the checks to be populated for the purposes of using a windowed envelope when mailing the checks.
  • MERCHANDISE
    • On the Merchandise Reconciliation screen, any awarded prizes will now show in red font and will be a link to a pop-up screen that will confirm for you which serial numbers were played in that session.
    • Under REPORTS -> MERCHANDISE INVENTORY REPORT, we also have added the serial numbers associated to each session played listed within the report so it is easy to tie prizes awarded to serial numbers.
  • BINGO SERIAL NUMBER SELECTION
    • We've made entering bingo sessions easier.  Now you can simply apply a deposit to any serial number.  Then as part of the audit, you can select ADD LINE on the audit screen and choose the other serial numbers associated to the bingo session at that time.  This also includes the option to select bingo serial numbers that might have been borrowed from another premise.

No Need To Close Etabs at Month-End

With the upcoming reporting changes expected for the July tax return, some organizations, distributors, and manufacturers are questioning the need to close your etabs at the end of June.

CG Made Easy is NOT recommending or requesting any closure of etabs at the end of June for any purpose related to the accounting or reporting of games.

The only change on the tax return beginning in July of 2015 related to etabs is simply that they will no longer be required to be reported on the B2.  The activity will still be needed on the G1 and Schedule A's.

CG Made Easy will simply begin suppressing the B2 data on the tax return for etabs starting with the July return.  There is no need to proactively close your etabs at the end of June for any purposes related to reporting.

Feel free to let us know if you have any questions.  Thank you!

Reporting Changes Are Coming

Beginning with the July 2015 tax return due to be filed by August 20, 2015, most of the tax forms will be undergoing some type of adjustments.  CG Made Easy has been in close communication with both the MN Department of Revenue, as well as the GCB in order to ensure we are fully prepared for the necessary enhancements to support these changes.

Overall, the changes will result in updates to just about every tax form, but we will ensure that the transmission is as streamlined as possible with as little direct impact to you and your current processes.

We'll be heavily communicating with you regarding these updates as we approach the end of July.  Thank you!
